Competition-winning story by
KAC member Paul Hawkins, published in two parts in Issues 1.2 and 1.3 (Spring 1992, Summer 1992) of
The Quest.
In the story,
Lord Fear and
Treguard raise armies and meet on the battlefield in what becomes their last confrontation. Given that The Final Battle was written before
Series 6, it's no surprise that only characters from
Series 5 are featured, such as
Pickle,
Brother Mace,
Hordriss and
Skarkill. Original plot points include Lord Fear having married
Aesandre, and Treguard demonstrating the ability to shoot lightning.
Ironically, bearing in mind its title, The Final Battle could be regarded as the first
Knightmare fanfic to be published within the
KM fan community.
